Wedding Management

Abby Cornelius
Lead Event Planner
Cheers and congratulations to you! My name is Abby and I am so excited to be part of your next great adventure as a couple! Your day is not only a celebration of your love for each other, but also a reflection of your individual tastes and wishes and our team is here to ensure your vision becomes reality.
I graduated from Miami University with a degree in Public Relations & Strategic Communications. After college I moved to San Francisco and worked for Hyatt Hotels as a Catering Sales Manager. It was a fast-paced, stressful, wonderful job that really gave me the skills I use today to manage the complexity of planning a wedding. As much as I hated to leave the City by the Bay, I missed being near family in the Midwest. I moved home with Hyatt and worked with them in Cincinnati and later at Marriott as well. I recently joined the KMC Team after taking some time off to raise my two little girls, Anna and Maddie. After a few years at home, I was itching to get back into wedding design, not to mention craving some adult conversation. It is exciting to work with Karen and the team, to work with amazing couples like you and to design unique and tailored celebrations each time.
In my free time, which there isn’t much of these days, I enjoy playing with my girls, dogs, cats and husband around the house and traveling. I spend a lot of time in my garden which seems to expand each year. And I also love to throw over-the-top themed parties for my family and friends. The bigger the better!

The Process
The most important piece of information I will need from you is all your hired vendors, their contact information and copies of their contracts which you can upload directly into Aisle Planner or send to us to do for you. If you are having any friends assist you in place of a vendor please send their contact information as well as the expectations you have for them.
Please provide any vendor rules and vendor policies your venue might give you. If your venue requires proof of insurance please be sure to let me know.
**ALSO – if you would like to participate, we’d love to share a welcome and congratulatory post on Instagram for you! If you would like to send over 2 or 3 of your favorite engagement photos and the photographer to credit, we would love to give you a shout out! If not, that’s totally fine too!**
Your time is valuable.
With our management package, we manage all the details of the wedding day. This service is perfect for the couple who have planned their wedding, chosen their vendors and designed their aesthetic.
Service starts 60 days prior to wedding day.
Method Of Communication
Our preferred method of communication is email especially when it comes to making your big decisions. Not only is it easier to track but we can easily save emails to Aisle Planner by copy & paste. Using AP is a good tool as well for communication thru the Notes and Comments making it a safe place to store all ideas, conversations and notes.
Calls need to be scheduled 48 hours in advance during office hours. Texting is not ideal unless it’s a 9-1-1 emergency!

Response Time
If you do not receive an immediate response to your email during business hours, please know I will do my best to respond within 72 hours. Please note my normal office hours are Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Friday through Sundays are of course reserved for event and family time so please expect a response the following Monday. I prefer to schedule any calls to ensure the best use of both our time and I can have your AP or file in front of me.
Scheduling
We like to schedule our planning meeting and timeline call right away to ensure we can work around your schedule. Please note, if you choose to take on scheduling the venue walk through yourself, it is required you include your KMC planner in the scheduling so we can confirm availability. Weekends are typically challenging because we are often working weddings.

A Few Tips
-
Over communicate expectations with vendors, family and friends.
-
When making decisions, keep it simple (try to ask yourself if you really need it, if you really even want it!)
-
Stay organized, ask for help when you need it! USE YOUR AP CHECKLIST!
-
Read every contract in detail and read the fine print. It is okay to ask questions if you are unclear.
-
Get everything done by the week of the wedding so you have time to enjoy your friends and family when they start arriving.
-
If you are having a sit down dinner with menu selections, please let your planner know. Remember to ask this on your RSVP card as well as asking guests to identify their names/or to initial with their selections. We will talk more about how to keep this organized and what you need to provide to your caterer to ensure smooth food service.
