WELCOME
Full Service Planning & Design

Karen Collins
Wife. Boy Mom. Wedding Designer.
If you would have told me 16 years ago that I would be planning and designing the biggest day of people’s lives for my career, I would have laughed. I thought I was going to be a lawyer. Yes – that’s crazy and totally the opposite of a wedding planner. Lucky for me, I realized what made me happy and where my real passions were.
Making sure couples feel connected during the planning process not only to each other, but to the wedding developing before them, is so important to me. Building relationships with my couples drives my passion to tell their story through unique design and guest experience.
In a time where inspiration and advice seem so easily accessible, I find it my mission to tailor services for each unique couple. Seeing them light up on wedding day and enjoy themselves. That’s the best.

The Process
1 . We will set up an appointment to do a meeting (in-person or zoom) to go over expectations, investment goals, style and aesthetic and how Aisle Planner works.
2 . Before this meeting, we will send over a couple of questionnaires to get us started on getting to know you more. This will give us a starting point and more info for our first meeting.
3 . We would love for you to start on your guest list. In Aisle Planner we have a guest list tool we will use to track RSVPs and to create your layout and seating chart.
4 . Write down any questions you want answered at the meeting.
Your time is valuable.
With our full service planning & design service, we dedicate a lot of hours to making sure the entire process is easy and enjoyable for you. We want to be sure to respect your time because you have a busy life outside of planning your big day. Here’s a little bit of information on how we communicate.
Method Of Communication
Our preferred method of communication is email especially when it comes to making your big decisions. Not only is it easier to track but we can easily save emails to Aisle Planner by copy & paste. Using AP is a good tool as well for communication thru the Notes and Comments making it a safe place to store all ideas, conversations and notes.
Calls need to be scheduled 48 hours in advance during office hours. Texting is OK for quick things but shouldnt be something used for decision making or big details.

Response Time
With our full service planning & design service, we dedicate a lot of hours to making sure the entire process is easy and enjoyable for you. We want to be sure to respect your time because you have a busy life outside of planning your big day. Here’s a little bit of information on how we communicate.
If you do not receive an immediate response during weekends, please know I will do my best to respond within 72 hours. Our business hours are Monday through Thursday 10am to 6pm and you can expect quicker response times during those times. Friday through Sunday is reserved for events and for family time.
We do ask if the same courtesy can be respected when an important email is sent asking for a response. 72 hours is an ideal turn around time to ensure things move in a timely manner.

Scheduling
To be mindful of busy schedules, we can work around them to schedule planning meetings and calls accordingly. Due to the nature of email, if you are ever unclear or frustrated during the process lets hop on a call to ensure we stay on the same page. Phone calls should be scheduled to ensure we can both take the appropriate time and attention to knocking out your details!
The Design Process
AT THE BEGINNING OF PLANNING, we start with a simple questionnaire to kick things off. This will help us gather SOME info about you two.
EIGHT to TEN months prior to your wedding we will send our formal design questionnaire. Because likes/dislikes, trends and styles tend to change so quickly, we like to wait until we are closer to the wedding date. We also request inspiration photos from you of not just wedding items but home, fashion, etc. to give us a better grasp on your personality.
TWO to FOUR WEEKS after you’ve submitted your questionnaire and photos, we will present to you a design board with colors and an overall aesthetic. You have ONE WEEK to approve and we will move on to creating your DESIGN PROPOSAL. This includes ideas for ceremony, reception, installations, cake, bouquets, etc.

We will work with our floral, decor, rental and lighting vendors to create layouts, sketches and boards to further describe the goal of our design. You have TWO WEEKS to approve your design proposal. At that point, we will put retainers/deposits down with the vendors and start moving on the process.
NO CHANGES TO THE DESIGN (20% more or less) can be made FOUR MONTHS before the wedding.
