Aneesha and Andrew’s Indian wedding in Cincinnati was one of our favorite celebrations to plan—not only because we loved seeing each event take on an entirely different look and energy, but because we absolutely loved working with the two of them. We became so close throughout the planning process that we’re lucky enough to still call them friends today.
Their wedding took place across three days and brought together both Aneesha’s Indian heritage and Andrew’s Catholic traditions. Our team planned two of the three days, focusing on the Indian cultural celebrations on Thursday and Friday, while Andrew’s family planned Saturday’s Catholic ceremony and reception.
Over those two days, we moved from a colorful backyard gathering to an elegant evening overlooking Cincinnati, then into a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a romantic reception. The colors changed. The fashion changed. The energy changed. And that was one of our favorite parts of the entire weekend.

The weekend began Thursday with an intimate haldi and mehndi at Aneesha and Andrew’s home. About 30 of their closest family members and friends gathered in the backyard, where vibrant oranges, yellows, pinks, and fuchsias set the tone for the first celebration.
There was something especially fitting about beginning the weekend at home. Before moving into the larger events ahead, Aneesha and Andrew had this smaller gathering surrounded by the people closest to them and the traditions that would begin their wedding celebrations.
And visually, we weren’t holding back. Bright colors filled the backyard and created a joyful starting point for a weekend that would continue transforming with every event.

By Thursday evening, it was time to completely change the mood. Guests made their way to The View at Mt. Adams for the sangeet, where the vibrant palette from earlier in the day gave way to an elegant design of white, gold, and silver.
Textured linens and delicate florals filled the space alongside plenty of candlelight, while touches of red brought warmth into the otherwise neutral palette. With downtown Cincinnati as the backdrop, the evening felt polished and sophisticated while still full of the energy you’d expect from a sangeet. That contrast was intentional.
One of the things we loved most about designing this weekend was that we didn’t need every event to look the same in order for the wedding to feel cohesive. Each celebration had its own purpose and personality, which gave us the freedom to create something completely different every time guests walked into a new space.

Friday’s Indian wedding celebration in Cincinnati began with an entirely different kind of energy as Andrew made his way through the street during his baraat. There was music, dancing, and a dhol drummer leading a lively procession before everyone moved inside The Cincinnati Club for the Hindu ceremony.
For the ceremony, the color returned in a big way. A lush mandap filled with reds, pinks, greenery, and layers of texture created the focal point of the room. After the clean white, gold, and silver palette of the night before, we loved being able to shift back into richer colors for the ceremony.
And, of course, the fashion throughout the weekend became part of the design itself. Aneesha and Andrew’s attire changed from celebration to celebration, as did their guests’, filling each event with another layer of color, pattern, and detail. Watching the clothing transform alongside the spaces was one of those things that made the entire weekend feel especially dynamic.

Following the Hindu ceremony, guests moved into the Oak Room for the reception—and once again, the atmosphere shifted. This time, we leaned into a romantic palette of rich pinks and reds. Tall floral arrangements brought height and drama to the room, while candelabras, champagne chairs, and an abundance of candlelight softened the space and created a warm glow throughout the evening.
It was different from the backyard celebration. Different from the sangeet. Different even from the ceremony guests had just experienced. But that’s what made the progression of the weekend so much fun.
Rather than choosing one design direction and carrying it through every event, we were able to give each part of Aneesha and Andrew’s Indian wedding in Cincinnati its own identity.

With a multi-day wedding, we never want guests to feel like they’re walking into a slightly different version of the same party over and over again. Aneesha and Andrew’s weekend is such a great example of why.
Thursday afternoon was vibrant, intimate, and playful. That evening became elegant and sophisticated. Friday began with the movement and energy of the baraat before transitioning into a lush Hindu ceremony and, later, a romantic candlelit reception.
The dramatic shifts in color, fashion, and energy gave guests something new to experience at every turn while still allowing the weekend to feel connected. That’s one of the things we love about planning multi-day cultural weddings. Cohesion doesn’t have to mean repetition. Sometimes the most memorable experience comes from allowing each celebration to be completely itself.

Our team’s planning work ended after Friday’s celebration, but our weekend with Aneesha and Andrew didn’t. On Saturday, Andrew’s family hosted their Catholic ceremony and reception. And this time, instead of attending as their planners, Aneesha and Andrew invited my husband, our boys, and me to join them as guests. Getting to simply show up and celebrate alongside them was such a special way to end the weekend.
You spend a lot of time together when you’re planning a wedding—especially one with multiple days, venues, traditions, and celebrations. Every once in a while, we have couples who become more than clients along the way. Aneesha and Andrew were absolutely one of those couples.
Their weekend was colorful, energetic, elegant, deeply rooted in tradition, and constantly changing from one celebration to the next. But more than anything, it was filled with people who were genuinely thrilled to be there celebrating them. And we feel very lucky that we got to be part of it.
